SUMMARY

The Electronics Equipment Technician provides technical support on a daily basis in a training or functional environment including, but not limited to, preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, system installation, removal and configuration, troubleshooting, reporting inventory and quality management system support.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires possession of or the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Applies comprehensive knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents.

Applies judgement to the planning work sequence and in selecting tools and testing instruments, as well as provide familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits.

Performs testing utilizing Oscilloscopes, Digital volt/ohm meters, and other test equipment.

  

Performs fact finding and analysis, as required, to address a single activity or a routine problem, and apply established procedures where the nature of the system, feasibility, computer equipment, operating system and programming language have been decided.

Conducts research on routine user problems and solve them by modifying the existing system when the solutions follow clear precedents.

Assists higher level technicians and provide guidance to lower level technicians.

Possess a high degree of electronic knowledge.

Radar training and experience working on active radars.

Any military training i.e. AN/MPQ’s AN/MJQ, Ku Radio Frequency System (KRFS) fire control radar. Forward Area Air Defense (FAAD) systems, Air and Missile Defense Workstations (AMDWS), etc.

Electronic training and experience.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or General Education degree (GED) and a minimum three (3) years relevant experience; or a Associates degree and a minimum of two (2) years or relevant experience.

Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Seldom lifting of office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds, as necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
