CNI Spotlight | Sherri Ellis
Sherri Ellis is a Chickasaw Nation tribal member and began working at the Chickasaw Nation in August 1993. After more than a decade working for the tribe, Sherri moved over to Chickasaw Nation Industries in 2004, accepting a role in the HR Department before becoming Executive Assistant to the CEO. Sherri then progressed as a Project Manager for several successful contracts and was eventually promoted to LLC Manager within the Federal Services Division.
Outside of being a valued member of Team CNI, Sherri is a proud mother to five children and heavily involved in her community, most notably with the Oklahoma Families First organization. Sherri has three biological children and recently adopted two more last November through her journey as a foster parent with Oklahoma Families First.Below is an excerpt from a Foster Parent Spotlight as written by Oklahoma Families First:
“Sherri has been with Oklahoma Families First as a foster parent for a combination of almost 12 years and has had a total of 22 placements in her home. What makes Sherri stand out is her advocacy for our kids, she always stands her ground and fights for what is best for the kids and willing is to do whatever it takes to accomplish it; from different types of therapy, supervising visitation or standing up in court and stating what she feels. I appreciate her for her heart, attitude, and empathy for others. She is the whole package, the one you always want on your team!”
After the adoption of two of her foster children, Sherri stated, “My sons jokingly say I foster to get into Heaven but I can honestly tell you the reason I started was after reading the book, ‘A Child Called It’. I wanted to make the difference in the life of just one child. I truly pray for others to have a heart to serve children in need.”
Thank you, Sherri, for all you give to your community and to CNI. You are a shining example of Service without Reservation.
